Solar for Mosman Public

Mosman Public has just gone solar, with the recent installation of one of the largest solar power systems in the area.

These 165 panels on the school’s rooftop will:

  • Generate around 62 MWh each year, equivalent to powering 11 homes each year.
  • Reduce their annual energy bills by 23%
  • Save the school around $8500 each year to reinvest into other important learning resources
  • Avoid 55 tonnes of carbon emissions each year

“The power of the sun is now meeting part of the electrical needs of our school thanks to a newly installed 50kW solar system”, said Principal Steve Connolly. “Invaluable guidance was provided by the Solar my School program, and the system was funded through the Purryburry Trust, a community fundraising 2040 screening event and the NSW Department of Education.”

“Students of the school’s Sustainability Team are eager to learn about, and share with others how the solar panels produce the clean green energy that will power the school’s learning facilities.”

Congratulations to Mosman Public School and the fabulous team who worked with Solar my School to make this project happen.
